Avici Card Review: Cashback, Fees, & Perks

Avici is a US-based, self-custodial crypto financial platform offering Visa crypto-backed credit cards, cryptocurrency wallets, and USD and EUR virtual bank accounts. Its Visa Platinum and Visa Signature cards are available in virtual and physical formats. Neither offers cashback, while Signature includes selected travel and lifestyle benefits.

Onboarding took us around 10 minutes using Sumsub for identity verification, and the cards can be added to supported mobile wallets once activated. Avici's Earn feature also offered yield products involving stablecoins, cryptocurrency lending, and reinsurance-backed strategies during our testing.

Fees are an important consideration when comparing Avici with other crypto cards. Although Avici applies a 0% FX markup, we observed an effective FX spread of approximately 1.59% against Google’s market exchange rate during our PLN spending test. Card issuance costs start at $15 for the first virtual Visa Platinum card and $30 for Visa Signature.

Card Fees

Avici separates card issuance costs from recurring fees. Platinum has no annual fee, while Signature costs $20 per year from the second year. Neither card charges a purchase transaction fee or Avici FX markup, although Visa may charge 0.4%–1% for non-USD transactions.

Both tiers have ATM limits of $1,000 per withdrawal, $3,000 per day, and three transactions daily. Declined transactions count towards the daily allowance. Non-USD withdrawals may also incur Visa currency-conversion charges.

Avici does not impose a fixed daily purchase limit, although spending is restricted by the available USDC-backed balance. Users can configure individual card spending limits in the app.

Paymentscan Testing

We tested Avici’s foreign-exchange pricing on 6 July 2026 by completing a PLN-denominated purchase in Poland that was charged in USD. We compared the effective exchange rate with Google’s market rate at the time of purchase.

Although Avici applies a 0% FX markup, we observed an effective spread of approximately 1.59%. This may include Visa’s currency-conversion charge, although the transaction data does not establish the exact composition of the spread.

Funding Your Avici Card

Avici supports cryptocurrency deposits through Solana and ten EVM-compatible networks: Ethereum, Polygon, OP Mainnet, Base, Arbitrum One, Avalanche, BNB Smart Chain, Monad, Mantle, and Scroll.

Users can deposit supported cryptocurrencies into their self-custodial wallet and fund their cards with USDC. The card system places USDC into a self-custodial escrow smart contract and creates an equivalent USD spending balance. As transactions settle, the corresponding USDC is withdrawn from the contract to cover card purchases.

Fiat funding is also available through USD and EUR virtual bank accounts powered by Iron, which Avici links to Bridge’s banking infrastructure. Incoming bank transfers are automatically converted into USDC and credited to the user’s wallet.

The virtual accounts support SEPA transfers for EUR and ACH, wire transfers, and SWIFT for USD, subject to regional availability. During our review, the EUR banking details were provided through AS LHV Pank in Estonia.

Avici’s virtual account fees include free account opening, ACH transfers, and SEPA transfers. Incoming and outgoing USD wire transfers cost $15, while incoming and outgoing USD SWIFT transfers cost $25. A minimum transfer amount of $2 applies. Additional verification may be required to increase account transfer limits.

Additional Features

Visa Signature Benefits

Visa Platinum is Avici’s entry-level card and includes no additional card-tier benefits. Visa Signature adds selected travel and lifestyle benefits, including airport lounge access, airport pick-up and drop-off services, complimentary movie tickets, travel insurance, rental-car insurance, purchase protection, luxury-hotel benefits, and emergency medical cover. The precise benefits and terms may vary by country.

Signature cardholders can register for airport lounge access through the Visa Airport Companion app. Complimentary visits are not included, so cardholders must pay the applicable lounge admission charge.

Avici Earn

During Paymentscan testing on 6 July 2026, the Avici app displayed stablecoin yield products with the following annual percentage yields:

AssetObserved APY*
JupUSD5.33%
USDC4.19%
USDT3.42%
EURC2.93%
USDS2.52%

APY figures recorded in the Avici app during testing on 6 July 2026.

The app also displayed a WSOL lending product through Jupiter Lend with a 4.23% APY, a $1 minimum deposit, and approximately $16.7 million in assets under management.

Another displayed product was ONyc, a reinsurance-backed yield asset issued by OnRe. It showed an 11.72% APY, a $1 minimum deposit, and approximately $5.61 million in assets under management. ONyc generates returns from reinsurance premiums and collateral investments rather than conventional cryptocurrency staking.

Referral Program

Avici offers a referral program through which existing users can earn rewards for inviting new customers. According to its referral documentation, referred users receive an $8 welcome bonus after registering through a referral, ordering a card, and completing profile verification.

Referrers can receive a percentage of eligible card spending and unlock milestone bonuses when invited users meet the qualifying requirements.

Availability and User Experience

Avici’s published card availability covers selected US states and countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, including Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. Poland and other EU countries are absent from its officially supported card markets, although they are not explicitly prohibited. During testing on 6 July 2026, we successfully used an Avici card in Poland.

Onboarding requires identity verification through Sumsub. Applicants must provide their full legal name, date of birth, residential address, and government-issued identification, followed by facial video verification.

During our iPhone testing, account registration and identity verification took approximately 10 minutes. Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported, although we had to add the card details manually to Apple Pay rather than completing the process directly through Avici.

Physical cards include free standard delivery without tracking, while paid priority delivery is available. Physical card details generally become accessible in the app within 2–3 days of ordering, allowing users to make supported payments before receiving the physical card.

Who Is This Card For?

Avici is best suited to cryptocurrency holders who want to spend from a self-custodial wallet without transferring their entire balance to a centralised exchange or custodial card provider. Its USDC-backed Visa cards, support for Solana and EVM deposits, and integrated USD and EUR accounts make it useful for managing crypto and everyday payments within one application.

For users prioritising cashback or low-cost foreign-currency spending, Avici is less attractive. Neither Platinum nor Signature offers cashback, and our observed FX spread of approximately 1.59% reduced the value of the single international purchase we tested. A card offering cashback or lower currency-conversion costs may provide better value for frequent international spending.
