About UR (formerly Fiat24)
UR is a Swiss-regulated multi-currency account with a Mastercard debit card attached. Founded in 2020, it is operated by SR Saphirstein AG under a Swiss fintech licence.
Issuing and networks
Cards are virtual-only Mastercard debit, drawing on separate EUR, USD, CHF and RMB balances. The card charges the balance matching the transaction currency, with a user-set default for shortfalls.
Historically, Visa cards were also issued under the Fiat24 brand.
Settlement and currencies
Each balance is represented on Arbitrum as a token (EUR24, USD24, CHF24, CNH24) backed one-for-one by fiat at the institution. Users top up in USDC on Arbitrum, converted to fiat tokens by smart contract. Card settlement with Mastercard is conventional fiat.
